Welcome to My Book Musings! Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read. It’s purpose is to gain and meet new friends and followers. I love seeing the weekly questions because I enjoy mulling over my books, or other reading-related matters.

If you're already following me via GFC and Linky, do follow me via Twitter and Pinterest if you have an account. I'm so glad to see more people following me via my
Bloglovin' account! To all my followers there, thank you! If you're not yet following there, you're very welcome to do so.

Q: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

My, my! I can really relate to this question. My guilty pleasure right now would be historical romance. I've been addicted to it for over a year and I can't stop reading books from that genre! It's one of the reasons why it's taking me so long to finish War and Peace -- because I keep choosing my Julia Quinn/Sarah MacLean/Anne Gracie/Alexandra Hawkins books over the classic novel.

Another guilty pleasure is reading until the wee hours of the morning! It's so pleasurable for me to read but I know I shouldn't read until dawn because I need to sleep, especially when I have work the next day. But I know you bookworms can relate, we just can't help it!

What's your guilty pleasure?

P.S. In relation to last week's Feature & Follow question, I went to Tagaytay for a birthday bash, and took some pictures for you international readers. It's a photo of Taal, the world's smallest volcano. It's still active. This was our view while having lunch. I hope you enjoy these photos (and understand why I don't read when I go there!).

Happy weekend!

  2. Ok, now I'm totally jealous! Those pics are amazing!

I also stay up waaaaay past my bedtime to read if the book is really good. In fact, that's actually part of how I decide on a book rating. If it makes me lose precious sleep it's rated higher. :)

Thanks for stopping by Cherie Reads! I'm your newest follower.

    1. Come to the Philippines! Haha we get a lot of flak on international news but it's not all bad, and we do have amazing views. :)

I agree, we just can't help staying up late right? But I've had the experience of staying up late just to finish a book I didn't exactly like.

      Thanks for following back! :)

    1. Thanks!

Oh, my point exactly on why I'm so gaga over historical romances! Although I don't like that they look at women as too fragile, it's always fun for me to read about a seemingly weak woman turn into a feisty one, and ends up being the "boss" in the relationship. ;)

      Thanks for dropping by!

  7. I have yet to read a historical romance. I'm afraid I'd be just as hooked as you. I've been on a YA and NA contemporary romance benders for a while. New follower via email, but then I saw google+ so I hit you up on that too. Here's my FF. (I checked out your blog, awesome review for Rise of Nine!)

  9. I love historical romances as well! There is just something so titillating about innocent (or not so innocent) young ladies, and a rogue lord! I need to check out your shelves so I can add some more books on my own ;)

I'm an old follower, thanks for stopping by my FF post earlier :) Happy Friday!

  14. I used to read historical romance voraciously. I still love it, but don't read it quite as much anymore. But JQ is amazing!!!! I really like Julie Garwood's historical romances. Have you read any of hers? The heroes are always so awesome. Not jerky, but still dominant. And totally swoony :)

  15. I'm not a big fan of romance, although i used to read Harlequin and Silhouette books back in my secondary school days. I love that picture. A nice view it is. :) Thanks for stopping by my FF.

  17. Spent many a day as a zombie due to reading way past my bedtime! I went through a spurt where all I wanted to read was HR about the Tudor family. I was obsessed! :)
