Title:       The Fate of Ten [Lorien Legacies, book 06]
Author:   Pittacus Lore
Rating:   ★★★★1/2

I've been gone for over a month because, well, work, as usual. And because I went to...Europe! Thank you, McLexxie for your Switzerland tips :)

For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret. Now all of that has changed. The invasion has begun. If the Garde can't find a way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Lorien: annihilation.

There is still hope. When the Elders sent the Garde to Earth, they had a plan—one which the Garde are finally starting to understand. In the climax of The Revenge of Seven, a group of the Garde traveled to an ancient pyramid in Mexico known to their people as the Sanctuary. There they awoke a power that had been hidden within our planet for generations. Now this power can save the world . . . or destroy it. It will all depend on who wields it.

Well color me surprised because I think The Fate of Ten is the best one in the Lorien Legacies so far. It is filled with our usual loveable characters, and some mini characters have also been added, which adds uncertainty and excitement for the next book.

The Fate of Ten delivers on the action and craziness that I've come to associate with it. My heart pounded as I imagined the horrors the Garde were fighting against. I was so caught up, my plan to fix my jet-lagged body clock was thrown out the window.

Finally, we are given Setrakus Ra's history, and Pittacus Lore is finally introduced. I think it's pretty clever that the author hides under the same psuedonym (unless we were actually invaded by aliens -- the Garde -- and Pittacus walks among us!) as one major character in the book. I suspect -- and I've thought about this so many times -- that John (Number Four) is the descendant of Pittacus Lore. Raise your hand if you agree with me.

There are some sad moments, and I think particular fans will wail about this, but I am looking forward on how it will re-energize the Garde into action. I think it will be an ultimate driving force for one of them.

Am I going to read the next? Heck yeah.

If you've been following this series too, go for it. Grab The Fate of Ten and start reading now.
