Welcome to My Book Musings! Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read. It’s purpose is to gain and meet new friends and followers.  I have a new header and button too, what do you think about it? :)

You can follow me via e-mail, Goodreads, Google Friend Connect (GFC), Linky, Bloglovin' and RSS. Do add me on your Flipboard account as well!

This week's question is interesting and me reflect for quite a few minutes:

Q. Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?

I think I had several! The first is starting a book blog in 2010 then stopped blogging, and for 2011 and for the first half of 2012 I didn't blog very often as well. I also changed my blog title a couple of times. Leaving my blog behind made me realize that as a book blogger I should post every once in a while. I also think that I missed out on the chance to be a more proficient and well-known blogger. I also used to think that I should only write positive reviews. Now, I know better and I try to post as much as I can, and write reviews even for books that don't excite me as much!

How about you? Happy weekend! :) Please don't forget to tell me how you're following if you're a new follower.

Do check out my own meme, That One Line.

Happy musings! :)

  2. I started blogging last year and then went into a long blogging hiatus. I just started writing and accepting book reviews. Don't worry, with time you'll get to be well-known blogger. Just keep doing what you're doing. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

  3. Hey Goldie,

Book tours give you the opportunity to get traffic flow through your blog. You can review books that you like or just promote books with guest posts, interviews etc. You can often host giveaways too, as the author often has giveaways. Just be picky, dont sign up to review everything. Use different tour hosts too, so you can get a variety. If you want any more advice, email me. Happy to help!

    Thanx for visiting my FF!

    1. Thank you for answering my question, Naomi! So that's why a lot of bloggers join book tours. I get scared of the responsibility!

  4. I try to stick to a posting schedule, but realize that sometimes I'm not able to post. Life gets in the way and don't feel bad for not blogging when you have other things to do. I remind myself, "Rome wasn't built in a day," and the your viewership, etc will grow. Better to grow steadily than overnight.

    1. Wow. Can I just say that I was blown away when you said "I remind myself, "Rome wasn't built in a day," and the your viewership, etc will grow. Better to grow steadily than overnight."? I think it's particularly smart of you. Thank you for the insight, and the reminder. You're right!

Thank you for stopping by :)

  5. I don't have a posting schedule. I think that would make blogging seem too much like work. The only scheduled bits are the book blasts. I try to get those done as soon as possible and then "schedule" it via blogger!

  6. Seems that you learned a lot from blogging and that is good. We all are going to make mistakes, it's not bad. The thing is to learn from the mistakes. :) Have an amazing weekend!!

  7. Goldie I'm very similar to you. When I first started blogging it was only for hobby, I too changed my blog title a few times. I now decided to blog full time and it's been a hard learning curve. It's nice to meet another fellow Filipina book blogger :D

Here's my Feature & Follow Friday.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. I blog only when I feel like it! Some times, that means I only post one single post in a week, and that's the Feature and Follow hop.

I'm an old GFC follower. Here's my FF post for this week.

    Have a fantastic Friday :)

    1. Wow! I feel guilty whenever I do that :)) Then I remind myself that this is supposed to be fun, not work, not an obligation. But still, it's a hard habit for me to shake off.

  10. You know, I hear people talk about walking away from their blog for a time, and I'm sure as I go along (I'm still fairly new) that will get easier, but for right now I'm totally obsessed with blogging. I didn't blog much last week because of a family emergency, but I feel like if I miss more than one day at a time, I lose ground. Probably just me being neurotic, but still. :D Thanks for visiting my blog, Goldie! Really like your banner. So cute!

  11. I wasn't a very stable blogger in the beginning either. It's a lot more work than I thought it was going to be. :P But remember to do it because you enjoy it, not because you feel obligated...then it becomes more like a job. :(

    1. I hate it when things start to feel dragging, especially when it's something you initially loved. I am so impressed by bloggers who can do this for five years and still continue writing great reviews or discussion posts!

Thanks for following back, Jen! Love the Judging a Book by its Cover feature!

  12. Life tends to get in the way, but as this whole blogging should be fun, I don't stress over it. If I feel like it, and find the time, I'll have a post a day. If not, there will only be some memes that week and that's that.

  13. When I first started blogging I told myself it was only going to be for fun and only posted a few times per week. I still do it for fun, but being the overacheiver that I am, I want my blog to be the best I can make, so I've tightened up my schedule and upped my postings. I doubt that I can keep that pace, it takes me most of the weekend to create and schedule that many posts, but when the DH turns on hunting and fishing shows I can zone out and focus on blog LOL. Thanks for stopping by this week! Old follower :)

  14. I only just started blogging a few months ago, and I do have times when I'm busy and I can't seem to post anything on my blog. It's harder when I have book that I need to review and I don't have time to post the reviews on my blog. But It gets easier later on. New Follower :)

  16. I just loved your answer!!! I think at times in life we get distracted and its hard to stay focused. But now I try to post as much as I can, at least three to four times a week at least. Just so I don't neglect it. Like you, I do more positive review, but if there is something I don't like about a book I will say so. Just so I am giving a honest opinion.

    1. I agree. There were times when I just wouldn't write a review because I didn't like the book but my sister reminded me that I should be honest and still write about them :)

  17. I feel lately I haven't had a chance to write as many book reviews as I would like, and I feel like I'm posting more memes than reviews.
