Welcome to the That One Line meme! 'That One
Line' is a weekly meme created and hosted by me, Goldie, of My Book Musings, relating a particular
sentence/phrase/paragraph that you find particularly striking. I usually post on Thursdays!
Don't forget to add your link so others can check out your post and, hopefully, be inspired as I've been! I've found it so interesting to read the quotes shared by others and their insights, if any.
It should be from
a book although quotes related to reading are also welcome. It doesn’t have to
be a book that you just finished but can be something that you read before and just want to share it.
My entry for this week's That One Line is from one of my favorite books of all time, and my absolute historical romance favorite. I think it's also the one that catapulted me into the world of historical romance, and made me long to be a duchess. This is actually a dialogue between the two main characters, and I can still remember being super thrilled when I read it when I was in high school (about 11 years ago).
“Whitney: Where is your home?
Clayton: Wherever you are.”
Clayton: Wherever you are.”
Have you guessed from which book this thrill-inducing line is? If not, it's from Whitney, My Love by the awesome Judith McNaught. I borrowed this from my classmate who was a huge fan of Judith McNaught too back then. I smuggled it to my room because I wasn't allowed to read romance books back then. When I got to college, one of the first things I bought was a copy of the book because I just had to have it. I look forward to more books from Judith McNaught; it's been years since she published one!
Have you read Whitney, My Love? How about you, what's your quote/line for the week?
Sounds mushy for me! Hahaha! But it's a good quote! Kung ako siguro si Whitney, kikiligin ako! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, mushy nga! But I was suuuper thrilled when I read it :D
DeleteThis is a great idea for a meme, unfortunately, I won't have the time to participate this week, but I'll keep it in mind for later.
ReplyDeleteI love that quote, and I'm a big fan of Judith McNaught as well. I believe Whitney my Love was one of the first romance novels I ever read.
Thanks for stopping by at (un)Conventional Bookviews earlier :)
Thanks for your kind words, Lexxie! Whitney My Love is really one of my favorites. :)
DeleteI love romance novels, I never grew out of them, I guess :)
