Welcome to My Book Musings! Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read. It’s purpose is to gain and meet new friends and followers.  I have a new header and button too, what do you think about it? :)

You can follow me via e-mail, Goodreads, Google Friend Connect (GFC), Linky, Bloglovin' and RSS. Do add me on your Flipboard account as well!

Q: What is a book you didn't like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that wasn't popular?

What an interesting question! We readers usually have differing opinions about books. For example, Harry Potter is not loved by everyone in the entire planet, or was even read by everyone.

As for me, a book I really love that not everyone can relate to is Pride and Prejudice. My sister and mother tried to read the book but my sister couldn't get past page 1...and my mom fell asleep. I don't really know why. I think it's a fantastic book :))

A book I did not like (at all) was the Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan, which my sister truly loves but I couldn't even get myself to read the third book. My boyfriend bought it for my sister though :))

And please don't hate on me, but I really did not enjoy Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings!

Don't forget to check out my meme, That One Line! :)

  2. I like your honest opinion about Narnia and Lord of the Rings. I love those books but I understand you. :) Just because a book is a best seller doesn't mean that all people will like that book too. I like people who give their honest opinion about a book. :)

    1. Thanks Cora! Wow, you read Narnia and LOTR? I read Narnia but because I felt I had to...and I didn't even touch LOTR. The movies bored me to death :))

  3. Nice answer. I haven't heard of The Kane Chronicles. As for Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Narnia, I only saw the movies. Will read the books soon, though.

  4. Hopping through. I didn't like Pride and Prejudice the first time I read it - when I was 15. I re-read it when I was about 23 and fell in love with it.

  5. How funny! OK at first I thought you were going to say that you didn't like Harry Potter - glad that's not the one you put. I LOVE Pride and Prejudice and it's actually one of the few books that I will read that doesn't include any magic or some fantastical creature. I will say that I am certainly a Narnia and LOR fan :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven

    1. Oooh I agree, but I don't like the alternate versions that writers do about Pride and Prejudice, the one with the zombies. Meh.

      Thanks for dropping by! :)

  6. I actually haven't read Pride and Prejudice, but I liked the movies though. (Although I know that movies can change facts from the book). Old Follower :)

  12. I think the problem some people have with Jane Austen is the writing. Most people who get through it like it, but lots of people can't get through it. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Happy Friday!

  13. I stopped the Kane Chronicles after the second book. I liked it fine, it just didn't grab me enough to make me want to continue on with it. I know LOTR isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it is one of my favorites. Thanks for stopping by this week. Old follower :)

  16. I had to read Pride and Prejudice for school and although I didn't absolutely hate it....let's just say it wasn't my cup of tea. xD I'm a little shocked that you didn't like The Kane Chronicles though! I thought it was amazing. xD

Thanks for stopping by! Followed back via GFC.

  18. I loved Pride and Prejudice, too; pretty much my favorite book. And thank God I'm not the only one who hates the Narnia books! I can't stand them for some reason and it made me feel like the odd kid on the playground; all my friends love it.

    But I do love LOTR!

    1. Ughhh I know the feeling. My man loves Narnia though, so I'm forced to watch the movies. Thankfully they're easier to digest for me than the books :)

  19. I don't know why, but every time I try to read LOTR, I give up halfway the first book. But one day, I'm going to make it through :p because I absoutely love the movies.
