Q: We always talk about books that WE want. Let's turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?
I think the Beautiful Creatures series by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia.
I have set up a Box account for my ebooks so they won't fill up my hard drive, and in case my hard drive crashes at least I'll still have a copy of them! My two elder sisters have access to it so they just download a copy of whatever book they want. I think my eldest sister has just finished reading the Beautiful Creatures series :)
As for physical books, I think the last one I gave was The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, which I gave to my mom. I'm glad she enjoyed it! :)
How about you?
Do check out my own meme, That One Line.
Happy musings! :)
Good choice you have there. Newest follower. Hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Following you back now :)
DeleteI still need to read Beautiful Creatures. Have you seen the movie yet? Btw your new header/button is very cute. Old follower, have a lovely Friday! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment about my new button/header! I'm still so in love with them :D
DeleteNope, haven't seen the movie yet. Have you??
Not yet, hopefully soon! I want to read the book first.
Deletelove that series... new follower. my friday http://jennreneeread.blogspot.com/2013/02/follow-friday-56.html
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenn :) Followed you back!
DeleteI never read Beautiful Creatures, but I'm kind of curious about the movie. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteFollow that Penguin
I'm not really curious about the movie though, because sometimes the movie tie-ins ruin the book or deviate from the story, and I usually like the book more than the movie.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! I actually just lent my copy of Beautiful Creatures to my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :)
DeleteLove the Beautiful Creatures books and surprisingly liked the movie...my boyfriend even liked it so I'm super excited about that. Movie was different in so many ways and it didn't ruin it, plus I feel now that I've seen the country humor in action since I'm reading the last book right now I am getting the humor waaay better. Anyway I digress, haven't heard of the book you gave your mom and totally great idea about the flash-drive. I definitely will be getting one of those soon. Thank you for stopping by the blog and I hope you have an amazing weekend 8)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's the first time I heard of a guy reading Beautiful Creatures! And now you got me intrigued by the movie :)
DeleteHave a great weekend too!
Beautiful Creatures is a great choice! Love it! And one can NEVER have too many books! :)
ReplyDeleteOld follower - Bookworm Brandee
Thanks for stopping by, Brandee, dropped by your blog too :)
DeleteI'm a bit iffy about reading Beautiful Creatures. I might give it a go once the interest in it dies down a bit and the library actually has it in stock. You know I didn't think of backing up my ebooks! eeek!
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Literary, etc
(new follower via GFC & Goodreads)
I'm not such a big fan of Beautiful Creatures too! I think I only gave it 3-4 stars? But it's interesting enough.
DeleteThanks for following! Followed your FB and Goodreads because I couldn't find Linky... :)
Hi, Goldie. I've heard of Beautiful Creatures, but I haven't checked it out yet. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
ReplyDeleteYour header is beautiful. Can't see the button yet because I'm using my phone and viewing the mobile version of your blog. I'll stop by later when I get on my computer.
Have a wonderful weeked! :)
Thanks Kaykay! Have an awesome weekend too :)
DeleteI have read all the Caster Chronicles books as well, and I really enjoyed them! I'm a little afraid to go see the movies, though, I've been disappointed so many times.
ReplyDeleteOld follower stopping by to wish you a wonderful weekend. Here's my FF post for this week.
I can relate to the movie tie-in disappointment :/

ReplyDeleteLoving the new header/button, looks like a chubbier version of me ;).
ReplyDeleteI've always been hesitant about reading Beautiful Creatures, I have no idea why! Maybe I'll try it sometime and there's the movie too!
Old Follower and here's my FF. Happy Friday!
Oh, I replied to your FF post :D
DeleteThanks for dropping by, Madiha! :)
It's great that you all enjoy the same type of books enough to share. My family was pretty split with everyone liking their own genres, but we did have a few cross overs we all read. Thanks for stopping by this week. Old follower :)
ReplyDeleteTraci @ Mad Hatter Reads
I'm usually the one who reads various genres, so I've read serious fiction books of my parents, and I particularly loved Arthur Hailey!
DeleteHope you had a good weekend, Traci :)
Waiting to see the movie version of Beautiful Creatures.

Aw, that's awesome you can all share. I finally gave in and bought an eBook copy of Beautiful Creatures. Hopefully I get a chance to read it soon. I've seen mixed reactions to it and am curious about it more than ever with the movie releasing. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. ♥

You're welcome! Looking forward to your thoughts/review about Beautiful Creatures. It was nice, but it was not a five-star series for me. Still, very enjoyable and it was easy to get caught up in the story. :)
DeleteI love sharing books with my sisters too :)
ReplyDeleteYou are an awesome daughter x)

I just offered my cousin Beautiful Creatures to borrow. She is interested because of the movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat did she say so far? I haven't even read up on reviews about the movie, so I'm not sure if I'll really see it on the big screen or just wait for it on HBO.
DeleteThanks for dropping by, by the way! :)
Thanks, Kelly! Following your gotfiction site via GFC :)
